Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Cheney

With her family at her side the death of Elizabeth Cheney widow of Ralph Cheney occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Monday September 10, 2012. She was born on April 20, 1932 in Shelburne, N.S. to the late George and Mazie Bruce. Beth was a graduate of Nova Scotia Teachers College and briefly taught at Barnhill School. She is survived by her children Sue (Bruce) Watts and Ted (Donna) Cheney, grandchildren, Greg Watts, Jonathan (Adele) Watts, Jeff Watts, Matthew Cheney, Ralana (Mike) Guerrette and great grandson Dylan. She is also survived by her brother Daniel (Sandy) Bruce of Monkland, Ontario and sister in-law Betty Bruce of Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Dexter Bruce. There will be no visitation at Beth's request. There will be a reception for family and friends on Friday September 14th at 2:00 PM at Brenan's Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road (634-7425). For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
