Obituary of Douglas Edgar Kerr

The death of Douglas Edgar Kerr, of Saint John West, husband of the late Dorothy ( Lennox) Kerr, occurred on Saturday, November 23, 2002, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, in his 92nd year. Born in Williamsburg, NB on June 6, 1911, he was the son of the late John T. and Eliza (Buchanan) Kerr. Loving father of Gordon and daughter-in-law Ann Marie of Saint John and Sally Ann (Kerr) Kelly of Vancouver, BC, dear brother of Beatrice Humble of Fredericton NB, and fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews as a kind and caring uncle. He was predeceased by brothers, Harvey and Arthur and sisters, Margaret and Louisa. A former teacher, Douglas retired as auditor from Revenue Canada and was a noted calligrapher, computer builder, linguist and self taught scholar. Douglas was an active member of the Church of the Good Shepherd, being the Superintendent of the Sunday School, Vestry member and treasurer of the Church and an active member of the Bible study group, reading from the Greek Bible and translating for the rest of the group. He was an active member of the Federal Superannuates Association and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Resting at Brenan's Bay View Select Community Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John West (634-7425), with visiting on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held at the Church of the Good Shepherd on Tuesday, November 26, 2002 at 1:00 PM. Interment in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Remembrances to the charity of the donors choice would be appreciated by the family.
