Obituary of Mary Margaret Chanteloup

The sad death of Mary M. Chanteloup, wife of Robert Chanteloup, occurred at her residence in Glenwood surrounded by her loving family, on September 8, 2004. Born in San Francisco, California,USA, she was the daughter of the late George and Martha (Wilson) Monks. Mary studied at the University of San Francisco and was a fine arts graduate of the University of Kentucky. She was involved in the development of the La Leche League in Saint John and was active in the Saint John Educated Child Birth Association and the Sunbury Shores Arts and Nature Center. Mary loved life and her family was so very much apart of her daily existence. She was an avid gardener, reader, artist and community worker. Mary will be greatly missed by her family, friends and neighbors. Mary is survived by her husband Robert, two sons, Emile Chanteloup, (Dona Lawrence), Saint John, NB, and Mark Chanteloup (Areli Menjivar), Wainwright, Alta., two daughters Genevieve Chanteloup (Denis Stevens), Ottawa, Ont., Francoise Chanteloup (Davin Allen), Perth, Australia, one grandchild, Isabelle Stevens, Ottawa, Ont., two sisters, Genevieve Monks, Strathmore, California, USA and Martha Carlin, Eugene, Oregon, USA. At Mary's request there will be no visitation. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Augustine's Church, Grand Bay-Westfield, on Monday, September 13, 2004, with the Rosary being said at 9:40 AM and Mass at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers donations in Mary's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Sunbury Shores Art and Nature Center or the charity of the donors' choice would be appreciated by the family.
