Obituary of Reginald Malcolm Brown
The death of Reg Mel Brown, husband of Margaret A. Brown, occurred at Ridgewood Veterans Wing, on Thursday, September 9, 2004. Born in Saint John, he was the son of the late Perce F. Brown and Sarah Jane (McAllister) Brown. Mel was a veteran of WW 11 with the rank of Captain. During his war service he fought in England, France, Italy, Germany and the Netherlands. Mel was with NB Housing in Saint John for 15 years. He was a member of Branch 69 RCL, Masonic Lodge #6, Carleton Union Lodge, Shrines, Carleton York Reg. Association. Mel was a kind generous man who loved his family and two dogs, Myla and Teddy. He sponsored several children during his time with the Shriners. He will be sadly missed by his wife, children, family and friends. Mel is survived by his wife Margaret, one son, Brandon VandenHeuvel, Louisiana, USA, three daughters, Georgia Gilmore, Colorado, USA, Mary Jane Geiselbrecher (Peter), Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA and Joann Barrilleaux (Leonard), Denim Springs, Louisiana, USA, several cousins, nieces and nephews. Resting at Brenan's Bay View Select Community Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John, NB, (634-7425). With visiting on Saturday and Sunday, 2-4, 7-9 PM. Funeral will be held in the Bay View Chapel on Monday, September 13, 2004 at 1:00 PM, interment to follow in Cedar Hill Old Cemetery.
