Obituary of Douglas E. McCaughan

The death of Douglas E. McCaughan, husband of Roberta (Harris) McCaughan, occurred on September 27, 2004, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John he was the son of the late Alexander and Edna (Engalls) McCaughan. He was a machinist with T. S. Simms & Company until his retirement in 1982. He had been a member of St. Anne's Anglican Church, Ketepec, and enjoyed gardening and woodworking. Besides his wife he is survived by his son Stuart and his wife Patricia, his daughter April and her husband Bill Preston, all of Darlings Island, his sisters Olive Currie of Audrey McDonald both of Saint John, his grandchildren Spencer, Nicholas and Jeffrey Preston and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Glendon and Burton and his sisters Marjorie and Mabel. Although there will not be visiting following cremation at Brenan's Bay View Select Community Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road (634-7425), a memorial service will be held on Friday, October 1, 2004, at 1:00 PM, from the Church of the Good Shepherd. Remembrances made to the charity of choice would be appreciated.
