Obituary of Margaret Theresa McClary
The death of Margaret ‘Margie” McClary of Rocmaura Nursing Home, Saint John, NB, wife of the late Fairley “Mac” McClary, occurred on Friday, January 2nd, 2009, at her residence, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s. Born in Saint John, NB, on February 28th, 1927, she was the daughter of the late William and Margaret (Garey) Hanlon. Margie was an active member of St. Peter’s, St. Pius X, and in her later years St. Mark’s Catholic Church. When not in her garden, Margaret was most happy to be in her kitchen lovingly cooking and caring for her beloved family and friends. Margaret is survived by two daughters, Nancy Rioux (Pierre) of Quispamsis and Tammy Morrison (Gary) of Rothesay; two sons, Richard (Shelly) of Rothesay and William (Janet) of Quispamsis; one sister, Noel Cusack of Quispamsis; two brothers, Donald Hanlon (Fanny) and Patrick Hanlon (Geri), both of Saint John; eleven grandchildren, Paula, Marc, Robert and Adam Rioux, Corey and Katrina McClary, Kyle and Joseph Morrison, Theresa, Angela and Patty McClary; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Resting at Kennebecasis Select Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, NB, (506) 849-2119, with visitation on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Vigil prayers will be held Sunday at 8:00 PM, at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Mark’s Catholic Church, 171 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, Monday, January 5th, 2009, at 10:00 AM. A reception will follow, in the church hall. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Saint John. In lieu of flowers, remembrances made to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
