Obituary of Constance Evelyn Alberta Lockhart

 

It is with appreciation for a life well lived that the family of Constance “Connie” Lockhart, wife of the late John “Eric” Lockhart, announces her peaceful passing at Turnbull Nursing Home on March 28, 2021. Born in Fairville, N.B., on October 8, 1925, she was the daughter of the late William and Emma (McIntyre) Purcell.

 

Connie was a devoted housewife, and in her early years, worked with T.S. Simms and Co. Later, she worked alongside her husband at Lockhart Saw Ltd., which was a great source of personal pride.

 

Connie is survived by her sons: Gary Lockhart (Faye) and Jack (Beverly) Lockhart; daughter: Wendy (Stephen) Norman; grandchildren: Jocelyn, Jennifer, Geoffrey, Rebecca, Matthew, Justin, and Jessica; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews; all of whom she adored greatly.

 

Besides her husband and her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter-in-law: Judy Lockhart (McCormick); grandson: Jonathan Rooney; sisters: Audrey Paisley, Pauline Linton, and Phyllis Clarke; brothers: Edwin Purcell, Raymond Purcell, Clarence “Ted” Purcell, Charles Purcell, Robert “Bob” Purcell, and Burton Purcell. Connie was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

 

Resting at Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John, NB (634-7425) Due to the restrictions of the ongoing pandemic, a private funeral service will be held for immediate family only.
