Obituary of D. Joan Cameron

The death of Mrs. D. Joan Cameron of 174 Adelaide St., wife of Louis S. Cameron (52 years), occurred unexpectedly at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Monday, January 10, 2005. Mrs. Cameron was born in Toronto, a daughter of the late Harvey and Melvina (Baker) Baker, and had resided the greater part of her life in Saint John. She was a graduate of George Brown College, Toronto. She had been employed by the Red Cross as a teaching homemaker for many years. She loved music and managed her husband's band, 'The Western Express', for many years. She enjoyed all sports, especially figure skating and hockey. She was pre-deceased by a son, Murray Albert 'Cheesie' Cameron. Besides her husband, she is survived by three sons, Samuel L. and Donald W. Cameron, both of Saint John, and Steve D. Cameron (Christy) of Newmarket, Ont.; one daughter, Debra C. Cameron of Ferris, Ont.; one brother, Harvey Baker Jr. (Jean) of Pembrook, Ont.; two sisters, Gloria Madden (Gary) and Colleen Cook (Mike), both of Peterborough, Ont.; her best friend and godmother, Marie Perry; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Service will be held at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., on Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock. Interment will take place in the Field of Honour in Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
