Obituary of Wayne A. Cooke

<p>It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Wayne A. Cooke husband of Sylvia (Albert) Cooke which occurred on February 12, 2017 at his residence. He was raised by his grandmother, Cora May Cooke of Back Bay. Besides his wife he is survived by step-son, Kurt Gumushel of St. Andrews and step-daughter, Elissa Gumushel of Nelson, BC. He was employed as a Millwright at the Saint John Shipbuilding and then drove Taxi in Saint John for many years. He enjoyed reading, local beer, trivia, and playing baseball while growing up in Back Bay. He was known as a kind and caring person by everyone he met. He was predeceased by five sisters and three brothers. &nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Arrangements are under the care and direction of <strong>Fitzpatrick&rsquo;s Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St, Saint John, NB </strong>(634-1965). By request there will be no visitation. A funeral service will be held from Fitzpatrick&rsquo;s Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, February 17, 2017 at 2 pm. For those who wish, remembrances in memory of Wayne may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
