Obituary of Anne W. MacDonald

The death of Anne W. MacDonald of 1135 Red Head Rd., widow of John A. MacDonald, occurred unexpectedly at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Thursday, March 3, 2005. Mrs. MacDonald was born in South Nelson, N.B., a daughter of the late Arthur and Ella (Ronan) King. Following her graduation from Hotel Dieu Hospital School of Nursing in Chatham, she worked at the Lancaster D.V.A. Hospital and as a private duty nurse until working at St. Joseph's Hospital Emergency Dept. until her retirement in 1985. She was pre-deceased by three brothers, George, William, and Joseph King; and one sister, Mary King. She is survived by two sons, John W. MacDonald (Margaret Anne) of Saint John, and George D. A. MacDonald (Jane) of Carman, Manitoba; two daughters, Sheila MacDonald and E. Anne Griffin, both of Saint John; one sister-in-law, Annie Hamilton (Whylie) of Eel River Crossing, N.B.; seven grandchildren, Jay MacDonald, Jeffrey MacDonald, Megan MacDonald, Kate MacDonald, Stuart MacDonald, Emma Griffin, and Rebecca Griffin; and six great-grandchildren. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Friday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Stella Maris Church on Saturday morning at twelve o'clock. Following cremation, interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
