Obituary of Gerard P. Mackin

MACKIN-the death of Gerard P. 'Gerry' Mackin of Loch Lomond Villa occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Monday, November 7, 2005. Mr. Mackin was born in Saint John on November 14, 1927, a son of the late Daniel Patrick and Louella (Quinlan) Mackin. He was a graduate of St. Vincent's Boys High School and had worked for Mackins and Son Meat Store for many years and as a salesman for Downey Motors. He enjoyed harness-racing and was a trainer and driver and an avid sportsfan. He was pre-deceased by a brother, Joseph Mackin. He is survived by four brothers, Bernard (Lillian), Paul (Shirley), William, and Gregory (Mary), all of Saint John; two sisters, Margaret Dalton and Lillian 'Honey' Stafford, both of Saint John; and several nieces and nephews. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joachim's Church on Thursday morning at ten o'clock. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
