Obituary of Bertha M. Hooley

HOOLEY- the death of Bertha M. Hooley of Rocmaura Nursing Home occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Monday, December 19, 2005. Miss Hooley was born in Fairville on July 20, 1907, a daughter of the late John and Mary (Steven) Hooley. She had owned and operated Willfred's Beauty Salon on Paddock and Waterloo St. for many years until her retirement in 1977. She was a member of the Cathedral Catholic Women's League and the Irish Canadian Cultural Association. She was pre-deceased by four brothers, Daniel, John, Timothy, and Wilfred Hooley; and two sisters, Madeline and Margaret Hooley. She is survived by her godson, Brian Akerley (Paula) of Estey's Bridge, N.B.; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces, and great-grandnephews. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Tuesday from 7 to 9 and on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Rose de Lima Church on Thursday morning at ten o'clock. Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery. www.fitzpatrickfh.com
