Obituary of Sarah I. Slattery

SLATTERY-the death of Sarah I. 'Sadie' Slattery, widow of Joseph Slattery, occurred at the Dr. Snow Medical Centre, Hampton, on Wednesday, January 11, 2006. Mrs. Slattery was born in Port Hood, N.S., a daughter of the late John and Mary (MacDonald) Gillis, and had resided the greater part of her life in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception parish Saint John. She had resided at Loch Lomond Villa for 12 years until moving to Hampton. She had been a member of the Legion of Mary and the City Market Seniors Club. She was predeceased by a son Edward. She is survived by four sons, Stanley, Robert (Thelma), and Peter, all of Saint John, and James (Barb) of Petitcodiac; and one daughter, Marilyn Parsons (Frank) of Hampton; 13 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Thursday from 7 to 9 and on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Saturday morning at 10:30. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Boys and Girls Club or Romero House would be appreciated.
