Obituary of Edna M. Lavigne

LAVIGNE-the death of Edna M. 'Granny' Lavigne of St. Martin's, wife of Victor J. Lavigne, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Tuesday, January 17, 2006, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Saint John, a daughter of the late William and Cecilia (Gordon) Madore, and had operated a convenience store in St. Martin's for 19 years until retiring in 1989. She was predeceased by two sons, David and Paul Lavigne; three brothers, Arthur, Austin, and Joseph Madore; and two sisters, Evelyn Shannon and Marie Morin. Besides her husband, she is survived by five sons, Richard (friend, Linda), Frederick, Peter (Stacy), and Victor (Debby), all of St. Martin's, and Daniel (Carol) of Hampton; three daughters, Lillian Jackson (Wayne), Laura Morrison (John), and Deborah Rourke (Terry), all of St. Martin's; one brother, Richard Madore of Boston; two sisters, Barbara Boucher of Miramichi, and Margaret Dawson (Edward) of Saint John; 19 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be held at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home on Friday morning at ten o'clock. Interment will take place in St. William's Cemetery, St. Martin's. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation, or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
