Obituary of Sarah Lundy

The death of Sister Sarah 'Sadie' Lundy (Sr. Jean Patrick) occurred at Ruth Ross Residence on Friday, January 20, 2006. Sister was born in Lisburn, Co. Antrim, Ireland, a daughter of the late Patrick and Anne (Slavin) Lundy, and had resided the greater part of her life in Saint John. Sister Sadie entered the Sisters of Charity of the Immaculate Conception on September 8, 1944. She shared her love of music with the many people she taught in Hanna, Ab., Farrellton, P.Q., St. Michael's, Burnaby, B.C., St. Stephen, N.B., and Saint John. Sister Lundy ministered to seniors in Edmonton and at the Mater Misericordiae Home on Saint John. She was a member of the team who attended to the needs of the girls living at Rosary Hall in Fredericton. She was predeceased by five brothers, Saemus, John, Joseph, Patrick, and Arthur Lundy; and one sister, Mrs. Rose McKenzie. She is survived by one sister, Sister Jean Lundy, S.C.I.C., of Saint John. Resting at St. Vincent's Convent, 31 Cliff St., with visiting on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Vincent's Chapel on Wednesday morning at ten o'clock. Interment will take place in the Sisters of Charity Plot in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
