Obituary of Peter W. Martin

The death of Peter W. Martin of 93 Victoria Rd., husband of Glenna J. (Hughe) Martin, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Tuesday, March 21, 2006. Mr. Martin was born in Tignish, P.E.I., a son of the late Peter A. and Alma M. (Blanchard) Martin and had resided in Saint John since the early 50's. He had been employed as a welder at Saint John Dry Dock. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and had been a volunteer with the Heart and Stroke Foundation. He was predeceased by a brother, Ernest; and two sisters, Lorraine Martin and Phyllis Arsenault. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Stephen Cogswell of Vancouver, and Peter Martin of Saint John; one daughter, Janet Martin (Wayne Lesjak) of Saint John; four brothers, Gerald (Lillian) of Saint John, Reginald (Doris) of Salisbury, N.B., Wayne (Wendy) of Peterborough, Ont., and Ronald (Valerie) of Saint John; three grandchildren, Eric Olmstead, and Taylor and Nevaeh Martin; and several nieces and nephews. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Matthew's Church on Friday morning at twelve o'clock. Entombment will take place in Fernhill Vault with interment to take place in St. Augustine's Cemetery later in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
