Obituary of Muriel Jean McEachern

McEachern - A joyous sound was heard in the heavens as Muriel Jean McEachern of 37 Lomond Ct., passed from this earth on Sunday, April 2, 2006, at the Saint John Regional Hospital and was reunited with her beloved husband, Kenneth, and precious sons, Michael and Stephen. Mrs. McEachern was born in Saint John,a daughter of the late Edmund Isaac and Hazel Agnes (Chartrand) Strayhorn, and had been employed for many years in the meat department of Dominion Stores and I.G.A. Muriel's life was one of love and devotion to family and a commitment to provide a warm, happy, and humorous home. All who entered were welcomed and fed. Her wants and needs were few...but oh so giving to others. She enjoyed the very simple pleasures in life...sitting at her kitchen table and having her morning tea; daily phone conversations with her sons and visits from her grandchildren; living with her only daughter and looking after her little grandniece, Reese Elizabeth (Ressie-bear) many joyful hours were spent seeing the world in a whole new light through a child's eyes; baking many a delicious batch of cookies, bread, and preserves; playing Friday and Saturday night bingo with her dear friend, Mona. She is survived by two sons, K. Mark and Troy D., both of Saint John; one daughter, Katherine A. McEachern of Saint John; one brother, Kenneth G. Strayhorn of Saint John; one sister, Kay Tobias (Butch) of Bowmanville, ON.; two grandchildren, Michael and Rachael. Your children will miss you terribly, but it is their wish that you enjoy that new body free from all pain. Your legacy of family first will live on. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Graveside service at Ocean View Memorial Gardens on Thursday morning at eleven o'clock.
