Obituary of Pauline M. Bryden

The death of Mrs. M. Pauline Bryden of 10 Kingswood Ave., Rothesay, N.B., wife of Donald G. Bryden, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Monday, September 15, 2003. Pauline was born in Southampton, N.S., the daughter of the late Kenneth and Edna (Carter) Chapman. She had spent her youth in Bayfield, N.B. and had enjoyed returning there for the past 25 summeers. She had resided in CFB Shilo, Man. for 35 years where she and Don had raised their family and were active members of many community groups. For the past 15 years she has resided in Rothesay. Besides her husband, she is survived by five sons, Byron (Geraldine) of Quispamsis, N.B., Grant (Shannon) of Saskatoon, Sask., Randall (Linda) of Saskatoon, Richard (Olga) of Rothesay, and Robert of Atlanta, Ga.; one daughter, Donna Critchley (Allan) of Rothesay; two brothers, Leyland (Helen) and Robert (Jean) Chapman, both of Dartmouth, N.S.; her step-mother, Mrs. Audrey Chapman of Amherst, N.S; 15 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Pauline will be fondly remembered for her deep love of her family and friends, her love of the piano, her wonderful sense of humour, as well as her extraordinary kindness and generosity. she will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., Saint John, N.B., (506-634-1965) with visiting on Tuesday from 7 to 9. The remains will rest at Jones Funeral Home, 3 Main St., Port Elgin, N.B., (506-364-1300) on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Service will be held at the Jones Funeral Home on Thursday morning at eleven o'clock. Interment will take place in Fernwood Cemetery, Port Elgin. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
