Obituary of Julia C. Richards

The death of Julia C. Richards formerly of 148 Winslow St., widow of James S. Richards, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Sunday, May 28, 2006. Mrs. Richards was born in Saint John, a daughter of the late Gregor and Katrina (Malarek) Tokach, and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Julia was a graduate of St. Vincent's Girls High School. She was employed with the Federal Dept. of Fisheries and then with the Dept. of Veterans' Affairs, from where she took early retirement. She was a member of St. Vincent's Alumnae Association and the Federal Superannuates N.B. Branch. She was predeceased by three brothers, Eli, Peter, and William 'Billy' Tokach; and three sisters, Mary Tokach, Helen Zychowski, and Annie Wills. She is survived by her chosen daughter, Anne-Marie Godwin of Mechanic Settlement; several nieces and nephews; as well as several grandnieces and grandnephews. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Wednesday morning at twelve o'clock. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
