Obituary of William E. McDonald

The death of William E. "Bill" McDonald of 175 Britain St., husband of Tina (Frees) McDonald, occurred unexpectedly at his residence on Monday, September 29, 2003. Mr. McDonald was born in Saint John, a son of the late Edward J. and Mary Elizabeth (Sands) McDonald. He had been a bartender at the Admiral Beatty Hotel for many years and later was a member of the Corps of Commissionaires. He was a member of R.A.O.B. Lodge and was an avid card-player. Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, William Jr. (Jackie) of Point La Nim, N.B., and Robert (Susan) and Peter, both of Rothesay; two brothers, Arthur (Jean) and Edward (Karen), both of Saint John; three sisters, Margaret Brenton (Stewart) of Saint John, Barbara Byers of Quispamsis, and Katie O'Brien-McDonald of Saint John; 6 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Wednesday and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Friday morning at twelve o'clock. Interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
