Obituary of Veronica Bishop

BISHOP-with sadness we announce the passing of our Mom, Veronica Bishop, in her 93rd year on November 12, 2006. Mom was the only child of the late David O'Keeffe and Mary (Fitzgerald) O'Keeffe. Born in Saint John, N.B., she was married to our dear Dad, James Bishop, who passed on October 17, 1976. Those who knew Mom experienced her wonderful sense of humor and her unique style of phrase. Mom had a saying for everything surely influenced by her strong Irish roots. She loved music, flowers, and animals and in years past enjoyed needlework. A special thank you to the caring staff at Rocmaura where Mom resided. Mom is survived by her daughters, Mary Bishop (fiancé, Brian Baird), and Kathy Tilley (husband Robert), both of Saint John; her grandchildren, Erin and Michael LaCroix, and Chris Tilley; and several nieces and nephews. Mom was predeceased by her first granddaughter, Jill Kathleen LaCroix. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Monday from 7 to 9 and on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Wednesday morning at twelve o'clock. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Rocmaura Foundation Inc. or the Animal Rescue League would be appreciated.
