Obituary of Dorothy McEachern

The death of Dorothy 'Dolly' McEachern of Millidge Ave., widow of William R. McEachern, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Tuesday, October 14, 2003. Born in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Martha Jane (Hachey) Lavigne. Dolly worked at the Red Ball Brewery, McAvity's, retiring from the Saint John School Board in 1976, then working side by side with her husband, Bill, at Commercial Equipment. She was pre-deceased by a brother, Vincent Lavigne; and three sisters, Geraldine London, Hattie Matheson, and Florence Fizzard. Dolly is survived by her son, Joseph and his wife Debbie of Saint John; their children, Jana, Brock, and Achsah; and great-granddaughter, Ilonka, the sunshine of her life; sisters, Eva Vautour of Saint John, and Audrey Holden of Oshawa; and several nieces and nephews. By Dolly's request there will be no visitation and a graveside service will be held on Friday afternoon at two o'clock in St. Joseph's Cemetery with prayers at the grave by Father William Phillips. The family would appreciate remembrances to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, or St. Luke's Foundation. Arrangements by Fitzpatrick's Funeral Service Ltd.
