Obituary of Richard Charles Isaacs

The death of Richard Charles Isaacs (1919-2007) occurred at his residence, Ridgewood Veterans' Wing, on Saturday, January 6, 2007. Richard was born in Saint John, a son of the late Michael and Elizabeth (McDevitt) Isaacs, and was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was a veteran of the Second World War, having proudly served with the Royal Canadian Navy from 1939-1945. Following the war, he was employed with the Dept. of Veterans' Affairs and then with Canada Post Corporation, retiring in 1974. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, the former Eleanore McGuire, in 1997. He is survived by his children, Patricia, David (Denise), Phillip(Twilah), Richard (Holly), Sean, and Zeta; his grandchildren, Natasha, Jocelyn, Darcy, Sarah, Megan, Jason, Luke, Andrea, Ryan, Erin, Ian, and Isaac; and his great-grandson, Matthew. In keeping with Richard's wishes, there will be no visitation. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
