Obituary of Estella Marie Robitaille

ROBITAILLE-the death of Estella Marie Robitaille occurred peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hositpal on Monday, May 14, 2007, following a brief illness at the age of 96. Stella was born in Gardners Creekm N.B., a daughter of the late Michael Ernest and Annie (Ellis Lovatt Wallace) McCarthy. She was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Francis "Frank" Robitaille. She was a talented seamstress and was employed as such in both New Brunswick and Ontario. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed family gatherings, card games, and all the pets, especially her beloved cat, Duffy. She had returned to Saint John in 1998 and resided with her nephew, William McGrath and his wife, Carole. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by five brothers, Wilfrid Laurier McCarthy, Vincent Leo McCarthy, Wallace Justin McCarthy, Ernest Michael McCarthy, and Lesley William McCarthy; three sisters, Mabel Avril McCarthy, Helen Agatha "Dolly" McGrath, and Gladys Clare Andersen; and her nephews Wallace McCarthy Jr. and Ronald McGrath. She is survived by her nephews, William (Carole) McGrath of Saint John, and Alan (Gail) Andersen of Mississauga; her nieces, Winnifred (William ) Haines and Anna (Walter) Ellis, both of Saint John; as well as many great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Tuesday from 7 to 9 and on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Thursday morning at twelve o'clock. Following cremation, interment will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society; the N.B. Heart and Stroke Foundation; or the Animal Rescue League would be appreciated.
