Obituary of Geraldine M. Higgins

The death of Geraldine M. Higgins of 10 Grove Ave., Rothesay, widow of William E. Higgins, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Wednesday, December, 24, 2003. Mrs. Higgins was born in Golden Grove, a daughter of the late Luke and Mary (Sweeney) Horgan. For a number of years she worked in sales in the Cameo Room at Calp's Ltd. where she was always happy to meet and deal with customers. Geraldine enjoyed travelling and was especially fond of her visits to Ireland. She loved spending time with family and friends and took tremendous pride in the accomplishments of her grandchildren. She was a member of the Catholic Women's League and St. Joseph's Hospital Auxillary. She was pre-deceased by two brothers, Wilbur and Joseph Horgan. She is survived by one son, W. Edward Higgins (Ronalda) of Rothesay; two daughters, Geraldine Garnett (Robert) of Quispamsis, and Theresa Higgins of Rothesay; one brother, Jerome Horgan (Rose) of Saint John; two sisters, Florence Sullivan of Saint John, and Marie Crawford (Arthur) of Toronto; one sister-in-law, Bertha Horgan of Quispamsis;seven grandchildren, William, Maureen, Kathryn, and Luke Higgins, Michael, Kerry, and Peter Garnett; and several nieces and nephews. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Saturday from 7 to 9 and on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Rothesay, on Monday morning at twelve o'clock. Interment will take place in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery.
