Obituary of Shirley D. Davis

The death of Shirley D. Davis of 23 Brown St., wife of Donald M. Davis, occurred unexpectedly at her residence on Tuesday, December 23, 2003. Mrs. Davis was born in Saint John, a daughter of the late Leonard and Marie (Chase) LeBlanc. Shirley was an avid bingo player and was a much loved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was pre-deceased by a brother, Raymond LeBlanc; and two sisters, Alice Cormier and Gloria Peacock. Besides her husband, she is survived by four sons, Robert of Saint John, Donald 'Butch' (Deborah) of Hampton, Leonard (Lori) of Rothesay, and Raymond (Joann) of Hampton; two daughters, Della Smith (Brian), and Wendy Whitenect (James), both of Saint John; one brother, Leonard LeBlanc (Donna) of Saint John; five sisters, Sally Davis (Gordon) of Saint John, Sandra Davis (Douglas) of Saint John, Sharon Creighton of St. Andrew's, Rosemarie Wilson of Hamilton, Ont., and Anita 'Tina' Price (Carter) of Saint John; 19 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Monday morning at ten o'clock. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
