Obituary of Louis Delaney

DELANEY, LOUIS "LOU" JOSEPH-it is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of Lou Delaney which occurred on April 24, 2008, at the Saint John Regional Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Lou was born in Saint John on April 17, 1942, the son of Madelene (Corkum) Delaney and the late Joseph Delaney. Lou was a lifelong "North Ender". He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Tiena(Morrison) Delaney; his precious daughter, Carla (Stephen) Wetmore of Saint John; proud Grampy to his dear grandsons, Gavin and Cameron Wetmore; one sister, Patricia "Patsy" (Don) Taylor of Bain's Corner, N.B. Lou is also survived by his wonderful mother, Madelene Delaney; special niece, Cindy (Eddie) Blanchard; nephew, Rick (Bliss) Fulton, and nephew, Joe Fulton; his mother and father-in-law, Hazel and Dan Morrison; four sisters-in-law, Lynn (Pat) Mackin, Jane Finley, Susan(Bill) Melvin, and Dale (Bob) Keir. He was predeceased by his father, Joseph Delaney. Lou was a man of faith and was truly a devoted, active member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. He loved the celebration of Mass and Holy Communion and set an example for many. Lou Delaney has joined Our Lord without hesitation. A truthful, well respected gentleman, always remembering to help everyone. He will always by remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and fried. He will also be missed by his special companion "Snoopy". Lou was employed as credit manager at Pascal Emerson Ltd. until their closure in 1995. Shortly thereafter he joined Tom Creamer and staff of Eastern Collection Services Ltd. Lou spoke very highly of his co-workers and enjoyed his work very much. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., Saint John.The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, April 19, 2008, from 7-9 P.M. and on Sunday 2-4 P.M. and 7-9P.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Clarendon St., Saint John, on Monday morning, April 28, 2008, at eleven o'clock. Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery with a reception to follow. For those that wish, memorial tributes may be made to Divine Mercy Catholic School or the N.B. Heart and Stroke Foundation.
