Obituary of Thomas F. Hart

The death of Thomas F. Hart, husband of the late Alexis (Lamont) Hart, occurred at Ridgewood Veterans' Wing, on Thursday, June 19, 2008. Thomas was born in Saint John in 1914, a son of the late William and Arvilla (Andrews) Hart. He had served overseas with the South Saskatchewan Regiment during the Second World War. After the war he was employed with Royal Fruit Co.; with the City of Saint John Works Dept.; and as a longshoreman. He was a member of. the International Longshoremen's Association; the Royal Antedulivan Order of Buffalos; and Royal Canadian Legion Branch 64. He enjoyed bowling up to the age of 88, was an avid swimmer and skater, and loved playing cards. Besides his wife, he was predeceased by brothers, Bill, Gordon, Bob, and Jim; and sisters, Velma, Dolly, and Alice. He is survived by a daughter, Nan Lynn Hart of Saint John; a sister, Mary Mercer of Saint John; two grandsons, Joel and Will; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; numerous nieces and nephews; and special brother-in-law, George (Frances) Lamont. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Monday at 12:05. Interment will take place in the Field of Honour in Cedar Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated. Royal Canadian Legion Memorial Service on Saturday evening at seven o'clock and R.A.O.B.
