Obituary of Sarah Rosella Chatterton
CHATTERTON-Sarah Rosella (McIsaac) Chatterton passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 7, 2009 at Loch Lomond Villa. She was born on May 17th, 1904 in Johnville, Carleton Co, to her parents, Gabriel and Mary (Sutton) McIsaac. She spent most of her life in Saint John, moving to Loch Lomond Villa in 1973. Sarah is survived by her son, Fred of California; her granddaughters, Patricia Carswell (Bill) of Edmonton, Alberta, and Jill Chatterton of Oshawa, Ont., her grandson, Richard Green (Vicki) of British Columbia; three great-granddaughters, Terrie Carswell, Sarah and Veronica Chatterton; and her sister-in-law, Mildred Chatterton. She was predeceased by her husband, Sterling, her daughter, Patricia, and her great-grandson, Jason Green; and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Sarah graduated from Provincial Norman School in 1924 and taught in schools in Carleton, Victoria, and St. John Counties. Always kind and understanding of others, she was greatly appreciative of anything done for her. Sarah had a remarkable memory and possessed comprehensive knowledge of the history of Saint John, New Brunswick, and its people. She will be genuinely missed by her family, relatives, and friends. The family expresses sincere thanks for the wonderful care that Sarah received during her time at Loch Lomond Villa. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Stella Maris Church on Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
