Obituary of Marguerite Doherty

DOHERTY-the death of Marguerite Doherty of Rocmaura Nursing Home, widow of Gerald J. Doherty, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Sunday, March 8, 2009. Marguerite was born in Smithtown, Kings Co., on March 7, 1919, a daughter of the late Francis and Agnes (McMackin) Boyle. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Doherty of Saint John; one sister, Florence Carpenter of Lower Kars, N.B.; and several nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Wednesday afternoon at 12:05. Entombment will take place in Fernhill Vault with interment to take place in St. Alphonsus Cemetery, Hampton, in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
