Obituary of David Morgan Lunney

The death of David Morgan Lunney of 44 Ashfield St., Fredericton, husband of Barbara Bustin, occurred at the Dr. Everett Chambers Hospital, on Monday February 2, 2004. Mr. Lunney was born in Saint John, a son of the late Dr. Edmund and Catherine (Morgan) Lunney. He served overseas with the Royal Canadian Air Force during the Second World War, and then worked in the Insurance and Real Estate Industry until his retirement in 1987. David had been a member of the Air Force Club 250 Wing and the 'Guinea Pigs'. He was a Past-President of the Canadian Real Estate Association. He was pre-deceased by his first wife Charlotte Alexa (Ramsey) Lunney in 1976; two sons, David in infancy, and Edmund; and one brother, Dr. Thomas Lunney. He is survived by one son, Stephen (Gloria) Lunney of Rothesay; two daughters, Ms. Barbara Lunney (Hilary Horan) of Regina, and Miss Alexandra Lunney of Ottawa; one brother, James Lunney (Eleanor) of North Bay, Ontario; two sisters-in-law, Suzanne Coughlan (Joseph) of Baie d'Urfe, Quebec, and Dorothy Lunney of Saint John; five grandchildren, Eamonn (Megan) Horan-Lunney, David Horan-Lunney, Mairead Horan-Lunney, Sarah Lunney, and Alexander Lunney; two great-grandchildren, Liam Wallace, and Duncan Horan-Lunney; one stepson, Brent Bustin of Saint John; one stepdaughter, Jessica Bustin (Robert Cockburn) of Fredericton; and several nieces and nephews. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Thursday morning at twelve o'clock. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Members of the Royal Canadian Legion will hold a Memorial Service on Wednesday evening at seven o'clock. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
