Obituary of Harvey G. Court

COURT-the death of Harvey G. Court "Bucky"of 411 Ellerdale St., husband of the late Corrine P. (Walton) Court, occurred at his residence on Friday, October 23, 2009, surrounded by his family after losing his battle with lung cancer. Mr. Court was born in Campbellton on November 23, 1924, a son of the late Ivan and Frances (Harris) Court, and had reside the greater part of his life in Saint John. He had been employed as a foreman at the DAR and retired in 1985 with over 40 years service as a lift-bridge operator with the C.P. and C. N. Marine on the Bay of Fundy Service (Digby Boat). Besides his wife, he was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia Ann; a grandson, Christopher Court; three sisters, Audrey Gallant (Fidel), Margaret Morse (Russell), and Alta Rae "Betty" Daigle (Alphie); and a brother, Oland "Bud" Court (Barb). He is survived by his companion, Hazel Golding four sons, Mayor Ivan (Bliss), Bruce, Mark (Susan), all of Saint John, and William (Belinda) of Grand Bay-Westfield; two daughters, Mary Ann (Paul) Therriault of Waterville, Maine, and Colleen (Doug) Deering of Saint John; two sisters, Henrietta "Sis" Shenton (Harry) of Manchester, England, and Faye (Ivan) Levesque of Moncton; eleven grandchildren, Pamela, Nicole, Karrie-Lynn, Jeff, Tricia, Joey, Mike, Jason, Sarah, Jill, and Rachel; and nine great-grandchildren, Ryan, Taylor, Katelyn, Chloe, Tristan, Christopher, Mercedes and Ruthie; and several nieces and nephews. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Sunday and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Pius X Church on Tuesday morning at eleven o'clock. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice of Saint John or the Christopher Court Memorial Scholarship Fund would be appreciated.
