Obituary of Julia A. Scott

SCOTT-the death of Julia A. Scott of 26 Currie Ave., occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Monday, November 2, 2009. Julie was born in Moncton, a daughter of the late John Patrick and Claire (Mackasey) Doherty, and had resided the greater part of her life in Saint John. She was predeceased by her first husband, Allan Brown in 1963; her second husband, Alexander "Sandy" Scott in 2009; a son, Robert Brown; and a stepson, Frank Scott. She was a graduate of Mount Carmel Academy and had been employed as a secretary with District 20 School Board for many years. She was a strong advocate for the Schizophrenic Society. She is survived by two sons, John Brown (Susan) of Saint John, and David and Heather Hartley-Brown of Quispamsis; two daughters, Mary Claire and Andrea Brown, both of Saint John; two stepsons, Kenneth Scott (Kathy) of Edmonton, and John Scott of Saint John; one brother, John Doherty of Owen Sound; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Peter's Church on Thursday morning at eleven o'clock. Following cremation interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the New Brunswick Schizophrenic Society would be appreciated.
