Obituary of Francis F. Hunter

HUNTER-the death of Francis F. Hunter of 6 Alpine St., husband of Rita M. (Fennell) Hunter, occurred at his residence on Friday, July 31, 2003. Mr. Hunter was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, a son of the late Francis and Anne (Christie) Hunter. He had been an auto-mechanic for 55 years, having been employed at Creighton and Smith Motors, Lawson Motors, Star Motors, and Port City Motors. He was a kind gentleman who enjoyed his long drives and walks in the country. He was pre-deceased by his son, Douglas Hunter, and his daughter-in-law, Ann Hunter. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, the former Rita M. Fennell; two daughters, Mary Smith (Archie), and Marjorie McDermott (Paul) both of Saint John; three sisters, Elizabeth Dean (Walter) of Bellisle, Millie LaHure (Marcel) of Carman, Man., and Helen Frauley (Douglas) of Saint John; 8 granddaughters, Kim Hunter, Shelley MacPherson, Pam Hunter, Heather Murphy, Krista Smith, Sharri Smith, Julie McDermott, and Janice McDermott; 5 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ann's Church on Saturday morning at 10 o'clock. Following cremation, interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
