Obituary of Frederick Kenneth ACKERSON
<p>ACKERSON-Frederick Kenneth was born in Saint John on April 29, 1939 and passed away on February 11, 2010 in Apple Hill, Ontario. Fred was a graduate of St. Malachy's High School in 1958, followed by Teachers' College. He was employed by the Irving Pulp & Paper Mill before moving to Montreal where he was employed by Rolls-Royce Canada and was an active union member until his retirement in 1995. Fred was a very avid sportsman, and was a very skilled technician in a variety of disciplines.</p> <p>He is survived by his mother, Della (Martin) Ackerson; his brothers, Edward (Mary Anne) of Fredericton, Clifford (Pearl) of Saint John; Terrence of Quispamsis, and Robert of Kingston Peninsula; his sisters, Donna (Gary Orr) of Surrey, B.C., Karen (Ron Jones) of Kars, N.B., and Elaine (John Perry) of Kingston Peninsula; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his father, J. Edward Ackerson; his grandparents, Nellie and James Ackerson and Mary and Samuel Martin, and aunts and uncles.<br /><br />A celebration of Fred's life will take place on Saturday morning, August 7, 2010, at St. Bridget's Church, Chapel Grove, Kingston Peninsula, at eleven o'clock with Father John Beaumaster as celebrant. Donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated. <br /><br /></p>
