Obituary of Carl W. Parks

PARKS, Carl W.-the death of Carl W. Parks of 148 Elliott Row occurred unexpectedly at his residence on Sunday, April 24, 2011. Carl as born in Saint John on Feb. 20, 1923, a son of the late Charles and Sarah (Dalton) Parks, and was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He had been a member of I.L.A. Local 273. Carl lived all his life in the South End. He was an avid horse race fan, starting at an early age when his father owned and drove race horses at E.P.R. A devote Catholic, he was a member of the Cathedral parish. Carl was a kind and gentle man who will be deeply mourned by his many nieces and nephews and their families. He was predeceased by four brothers, Cecil, Russell, Leo, and Ronald Parks; and three sisters, Olive Bull, Mary Doyle, and Kathleen Miller. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Thursday afternoon at 12:05. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
