Obituary of John D. Daley

<p>John D. Daley passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, June 28, 2011, after a lengthy illness at his home in Passekeag.&nbsp; John was born August 15, 1938 in Saint John to the late Stephen and Eunice (Smith) Daley. He attended St. John the Baptist School and graduated from St. Malachy's High School in 1957. He was employed with Shell Oil for 30 years, retiring in 1989. He later worked with LeRoy's Heating Co. for 12 years. He was a member of St. Alphonsus Church and the Irish Canadian Cultural Association. John always enjoyed living in the country with his horses. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Jim in 2009; and his brother, Father Thomas Daley in 1992. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara (McMackin) Daley; two daughters, Beth Daley of Hampton, and Cathy Daley of Rothesay; his brother-in-law, Paul McMackin of Quispamsis; his four special grandnieces, Emily, Elizabeth,Molly, and Lilly, whom he enjoyed; and several cousins.</p> <p><br />Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Thursday and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John the Baptist Church on Saturday morning at ten o'clock.
