Obituary of F. Lorraine QUINN
<p>QUINN, F. Lorraine,-The family of F. Lorraine Quinn is saddened to announce the passing of their devoted mother and beloved wife of Francis L. Quinn, at her residence on Sunday, October 16, 2011. Lorraine was born in Fredericton in 1933, a daughter of the late Nelson J. and Marie E. (Sampson) Lafford.Lorraine enjoyed a rich and rewarding life with her family and friends, she especially enjoyed summers at their home on the Saint John River. Besides her husband, she is survived by her six children: Kevin (Sue) Woodman's Point, Patrick J. (Rachael) of Grand Bay-Westfield, Francine (Dr. Jeffrey Steeves), C. Jane Quinn, both of Rothesay, Leslie (Barry Oickle) of Saint John, and Suzanne Quinn of Ottawa; two sisters, Shirley Constantino of Hamilton, Ont. and Catherine (Leo) Holland of Belleville, Ont.; a sister-in-law, Patricia Lafford of Sackville, N.B.;15 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.<br /><br /> Lorraine was involved with many organizations of which she volunteered with the N.B. Music Festival for over 25 years, served on the Board of the Atlantic Symphony Committee and was President of the N.B. Ladies Symphony Committee, successfully convened several Home and Garden Tours, Fashion Shows, and the Annual Saint John Symphony Ball.</p> <p><br />She was a life long member of the Catholic Women's League, the Union Club, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Choir, and in early years a Catechist at St. Rose Church. Later in life she became a member of Westfield Golf & Country Club. Her favorite pastime was playing bridge, which she learned from her mother.<br /><br /> Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Rothesay, on Wednesday at twelve noon. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. <br /><br /></p>
