Obituary of Charles J. Melanson

The death of Charles J. Melanson of 248 Guilford St., husband of the late Emeline A. (Myshrall) Melanson, occurred unexpectedly at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Thursday, May 27, 2004. Mr. Melanson was born in Saint John, a son of the late Gerald and Dora (O'Brien) Melanson, and had been employed all his life as a longshoreman. He was a member of the International Longshoremen's Association Local 273. He is survived by a step-son, Gerald Hutchins of Saint John; a step-daughter, Pauline Hartt of Saint John; and a sister-in-law, Elena McCully of Saint John. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Saturday from 7 to 9 and on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Assumption Church on Monday morning at twelve noon. Following cremation, interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetrey.
