Obituary of Nora Moore

The death of Mrs. Nora (McElwaine) Moore of 165 Gondola Point Rd., Rothesay, widow of Harold G. Moore, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Monday, May 31, 2004. Born in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late William and Annie (McIntyre) McElwaine. Mrs. Moore was a graduate of St. Vincent's High School and Mount Carmel Commercial Academy. She was a long-time member of the Catholic Women's League of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish in Rothesay and the Irish Canadian Cultural Association of N.B. She was a retiree of the administration staff of St. Joseph's Hospital. She was pre-deceased by four sisters, Celia Brennan of Toronto, Gertrude McElwaine of Fair Vale, and Sister Mary McElwaine (Sr. dePazzi) S.C.I.C., and Sister Frances McElwaine (Sr. Pascal) S.C.I.C., both of Saint John. Mrs. Moore is survived by two sons, Michael (Lois) Moore of Quispamsis, and Sean (Elaine) Moore of Rothesay; two daughters, Anne (Richard) MacKay of Halifax, and Maureen (Wayne) Clifford of Edmonton; 8 grandchildren, Heather and David Moore; Rory, Marianne, and Caitlin Moore; Anne and Julia Clifford; and Kelly MacKay; and several nieces and nephews. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Wednesday, June 2, from 7 to 9 and on Thursday, June 3, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Rothesay, on Friday morning at twelve o'clock. Interment will take place in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Building Fund, the Canadian Cancer Society, or the charity of your choice, would be appreciated. Members of the Catholic Women's League will hold a Prayer Service in Thursday afternoon at 1:45.
