Obituary of Evelyn M. Chase

The death of Mrs. Evelyn M. Chase, widow of Charles W. Chase, occurred at the Turnbull Home on Monday, May 31, 2004. Mrs. Chase was born in Petit Rocher, a daughter of the late Pierre and Anne Marie (Doucet) Godin, and had resided in Saint John since 1933. She had been employed at M.R.A.'s and Scovil Bros. She was a member of St. Joseph's Hospital Auxillary; the Catholic Women's League; the Ladies Auxillary of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 14; the Red Cross Society; the Sea Gulls Seniors Club; and the Liberal Party of Canada. She is survived by one brother, Antoine Godin (Geralda) of Petit Rocher; one sister, Agathe Roy of Ville Vanier, Quebec; and several nieces and nephews. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Friday morning at twelve o'clock. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
