Obituary of Helen Mary ONeil

The death of Helen Mary (McLean) O’Neil of Saint John, NB, wife of James E.P. O’Neil, occurred on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at Rocmaura Nursing Home at the age of 87. Born at Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Hazel (Jenkins)McLean. She was employed at Benny Lawton’s on Waterloo Street, Weasel’s Shoe Store and worked in several Mess Halls with the Air Force. She was a member of Legion #58, Seniors “Gems” Glen Falls Club, City Market Seniors Club and the Naval Main Brace Branch. Besides her husband, she is survived by her sons, James Edward O’Neil Jr. (Barb) of London, ON, Brian Clement O’Neil (Ida) of Saint John; daughter, Debi O’Neil of Saint John, three grandchildren, James, Debi and Mark; four great grandchildren, Justin, Holly, Aidan and Cole; Sisters in law, Sr. Helen O’Neil, Audrey McLean and Florence O’Neil, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her brothers, Victor and Clement McLean. Resting at Fitzpatrick’s Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo Street, Saint John (634-1965) with visiting on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Ann’s Church on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 10:00 AM. Interment to take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery with a reception to follow at the Church Hall. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Rocmaura Nursing Home Foundation or Ridgewood Veteran’s Wing, would be appreciated.
