Obituary of Louis Donald McCue
<p> </p> <p>McCue, Louis Donald- at the age of 99, Don walked peacefully home to the Lord on July11, 2012. Born in Four Falls, NB on February 23, 1913, son of the late John Frederick and Martha Helen (Murchison) McCue. Don was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Yvette (Legacy).</p> <p>He is survived by his sons, John (Diane), Fredericton; Dr. Tom (Donna) and Donald (Cheryl) both of Quispamsis; daughters, Shirley (David) Mackinnon, Winnipeg, NB; Judy (Greg) McAloon and Helen (Gerry) LeBlanc both of Saint John, Susan (Robert) Sisson, Chesterville, ON; brother, Raymond, Fredericton ; sister, Ada Whalen, Frederickton; 23 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.</p> <p>Besides his wife he was predeceased by his 3 grandsons, Michael McAloon and infant twins Mark Allan and John Michael McCue; brothers Frederick and Myles; sisters Agatha Burrell, Dorothy Morrissey and Clara Goodine.</p> <p>Donald (lovingly known to many as L.D.) lived a life of deep faith to God and to his family. He was a veteran of the Second World War and during peace time, he served with RCAF as an Aero Engine Technician. His military posting were in Summerside, PEI and Trenton, ON. Upon retiring in 1962, L.D. and his family moved back to the farm in Morrell Siding, NB where he was employed as a carpenter for the Department of Transportation until he retired at age 65. Don and Yvette enjoyed travelling and camping, especially their time spent at the lake on the Kingston Peninsula. They were active parishioners at the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception and many spoke of seeing the couple walking daily to Mass, hand in hand. He was a Grand Knight joining the Knights of Columbus in 1978 and was active in Council # 937. </p> <p>Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 with the Knights of Columbus saying prayers at 7:00 pm . Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at 10 am. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donation to the Cathedral Fund or NB Right to Life would be appreciated by the family.</p>
