Obituary of Sister Lucie M. Dumonceau
<p>Dumonceau, Sr. Lucie M. (Sr. Martha Marie) – The death of Sister Lucie Dumonceau occurred on Wednesday July 25, 2012 at the Ruth Ross Residence. Sister was born in Montana, USA on September 11, 1916 and was a daughter of the late August and Celene (Blondeau) Dumonceau.</p> <p>Sister Dumonceau entered the Sisters of Charity of the Immaculate Conception on September 8, 1945. She received her education in dietary and food management/hospital purchasing and worked at Holy Family Hospital in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan as dietary and housekeeping supervisor from 1947 to 1965. Sister Lucie moved to Saint John New Brunswick in 1965 and served as Dietary Supervisor at Saint Vincent’s Convent on Cliff Street until 1970 when she continued serving at St. Joseph’s Hospital as a purchasing agent. In 1972 Sister Lucie served at Rocmaura Nursing Home as Dietary Supervisor/Food Service Manager until 1995. She resided at St. Joseph’s Convent in West Saint John from 1996 until she moved to Ruth Ross Residence in 2005.</p> <p>Survived by one niece, two grand nieces, five nephews and six grand nephews. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her sister Mrs. Martha Detillieux and brothers; Albert Dumonceau, Alphonse Dumonceau, Alex Dumonceau and Armand Dumonceau.</p> <p>Resting at Ruth Ross Residence with visiting on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm with a Prayer Vigil that evening at 7:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Ruth Ross Residence Carmel Chapel on Saturday July 28, 2012 at 10:00am followed by interment in the Sisters of Charity Plot in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
