Obituary of Geraldine Anne Garvin

The death of Geraldine Anne Garvin of 310 Woodward Ave., occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Thursday, July 8, 2004. Geraldine was born in Saint John, daughter of the late Maurice and Anna (Sullivan) Garvin. Beloved Aunt, Great-Aunt, and Sister-in-law, Geraldine was a longtime employee and retiree (1980) of Revenue Canada. She enjoyed travel, near and far, spending many summers at Bradley Lake with the Goggan family; and annual trip to St. Petersburg, Florida, where many longtime friends were made; and many cruises and trips with her sisters. Longer trips were curtailed in recent years because of the need for dialysis, but the fellowship of other patients and the friendly, professional nature of the staff and physicians at the S.J.R.H. enabled her to live with independence and good humour. She was pre-deceased by a brother, Thomas in infancy (1914); and two sisters, Doris (1939) and Carmela, R.N. (1990). She is survived by one brother, Maurice Garvin (Doreen) of Saint John; three sisters, Margaret 'Peggy' Kilravey of Saint John, Theresa Goggan (James) of Whitby, Ont., and Noreen Palmer of Saint John; and several nieces and nephews. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Peter's Church on Saturday morning at ten o'clock. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. The family would like to offer special thanks to Joanne of Red Cross Home Partners, the Nephrology Dept. of the Saint John Regional Hospital, and Dr. Laura Comeau. In lieu of flowers, In lieu of flowers, donations to the Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation, Dialysis Unit, would be appreciated.
