Obituary of Marion Evelyn McNamee

<p>On November 11, 2012, surrounded by her loving family, Marion "Cal" Evelyn (McAllister) McNamee, widow of former Deputy Police Chief Gordon J. McNamee, passed away peacefully at Embassy Hall, Parkland in the Valley, Quispamsis, NB.</p> <p>Cal was born at Gagetown, NB, on October 11, 1919, to the late Harry and Tessa (McCordic) McAllister. She was a graduate of the Saint John General Hospital School of Nursing, class of 1941 and spent many years nursing between Saint John General and St. Joseph&rsquo;s Hospital. She then put her career on hold to raise her nine children and later returned to nursing at Ruth Ross from where she retired.</p> <p>She will be sadly missed by her children; Provincial Court Judge, James G. McNamee (Carol),&nbsp; Deputy Chief of Police, John McNamee (Retired) (Penny), Joseph McNamee (Donna), Robert McNamee, Paul McNamee, Patricia (Carr) O&rsquo;Brien, Joan Coughlan (Joe), Elizabeth McNamee-Shanks (Paul), twenty grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren, brother; Arnold McAllister (Catherine), sister; Frances McAllister and a very devoted and special niece; Karen Fitzgerald, wife of Cal&rsquo;s nephew, Robert Fitzgerald.</p> <p>Besides her husband and parents, Cal was predeceased by her son, Peter McNamee, in May 1994, sister; Jean McKnight in December of 2010, daughter-in-law; Jane McNamee, in November 2004, and son-in-law; Edward O&rsquo;Brien in January 2005.</p> <p>Resting at <strong>Fitzpatrick&rsquo;s Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo Street</strong>, Saint John (634-1965) with visiting on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place from St. Peter&rsquo;s Church, Clarendon Street, on Monday, November 19, 2012 at 11:00 AM. Interment to take place in St. Joseph&rsquo;s Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the IWK, Salvation Army, Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of the donor&rsquo;s choice would be appreciated.</p>
