Obituary of Eileen Elizabeth Richards

<p>With heavy hearts the family of Eileen Elizabeth Richards (nee Riordan) wish to announce her passing peacefully at home on Sunday February 10, 2013.&nbsp; Eileen&rsquo;s parents immigrated from Co. Kerry Ireland just before she was born.&nbsp; She grew up in Saint John, but was always close to her roots which she expressed through many trips to "The old country" where she located relatives and family friends.&nbsp; Eileen kissed the Blarney stone on several occasions which was evident in her typical Irish eloquence and the lilt to her laughter.&nbsp; Throughout her life she was fond of family gatherings, laughter, good food, and friends. Eileen cherished her family most of all.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>Eileen was the wife of the late Frederick James Richards.&nbsp; She is survived by her daughter Ann Marie Douglas, grandson Sean; son Patrick (Lise), grandson Darby (Allie), great grandsons Klein and Hudson; granddaughter Melissa; and several nieces and nephews.&nbsp; Eileen was the last surviving member of her immediate family being previously deceased by parents, Michael and Mary Riordan (nee Roberts), and sister Marie Maxwell (Joseph).</p> <p>The family wish to express special gratitude to the palliative care nurses and doctors of the NBEMP, and to the personal care workers of We Care; especially to Gloria, Debbie, and Tabatha who spent many hours with her and ensured that she got to watch the birds and squirrels which she so loved.&nbsp; Thank you.</p> <p>Resting at&nbsp;<strong>Fitzpatrick&rsquo;s Funeral Home,</strong>100 Waterloo Street,<strong> &nbsp;</strong>Saint John (634-1965) with visiting on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2:00- 4:00 pm and 7:00 &ndash; 9:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 91 Waterloo Street on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at 12:10 pm. Interment will take place in St Joseph&rsquo;s Cemetery. Donations to the Alzheimers Society of Canada, would be appreciated by the family.</p>
