Obituary of Alice G. Connors
The death of Mrs. Alice G. Connors of Loch Lomond Villa, wife of J. Arthur Connors, occurred at her residence on Saturday, September 4, 2004. Mrs. Connors was born in McAdam, a daughter of the late John and Helena (Donahue) McGillicuddy. She had been employed at the C.P.R. Hotel in McAdam and the Lord Beaverbrook Hotel in Fredericton before moving to Saint John in 1978. She had been a member of the Catholic Women's League in McAdam. She was pre-deceased by three brothers, Lawrence, Maurice, and Raymond McGillicuddy; and two sisters, Gladys McGillicuddy and Margaret Danneff. Besides her husband she is survived by three step-sons, John (Brenda) of Saint John, Raymond (Michelle) of Quispamsis, and Mark (Christine) of Saint John; three step-daughters, Sharon Steblyk (Lester) of Spruce Grove, Alberta, Brenda Wilson (Peter) of Oakville, Ont., and Maureen Landreville (Andre) of Orleans, Ont.; one brother, Walter McGillicuddy of Oromocto; two sisters, Mary Brown (Verdon) of Harvey, N.B., and Edna Connors (Louis) of Saint John; ten grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Sunday from 7 to 9 and on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Pius X Church on Tuesday morning at eleven o'clock. Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society or the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. The family would like to thank the staff of the Alzheimer Unit of Loch Lomond Villa for the excellent care given to Alice.
