Obituary of Susan Salgado
It is with appreciation for a life well-lived and gratitude for a lifetime of memories that the family of Susan Elizabeth Salgado announces her passing, which occurred on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at Rocmaura nursing home. Born in Hampton, NB on June 22, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Dr. Vernon and Dorothy (Wall) Snow.
Susan devoted her life to caring for others. She received her Nursing degree from the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal in 1956 and went on to assist her husband in his private practice in Campbellton NB for many years. She raised her children with love, and taught them to be kind, strong and intelligent adults. She was a member of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation – a cause that held deep importance to her.
Susan will be missed by her children: Dr. Lydia Salgado-Kroetsch (Vince) and her children, Shawn (Helena Woodley) and Paul (Chelsea Wood); Dr. Michael Salgado (Colleen Furlong) and his family, Dr. David Salgado (Rachel) and their daughter Claire, Jonathan (Kelsey), Anna and Emma Salgado; daughter-in-law and wife of the late Dr. David Salgado, Sally Salgado, and their family, Jeremy (Jen) and their children Max and Julia, and Erika; brother Jeff Snow (Carolyn); sisters-in-law Margaret and Linda; her companion of 15 years, Peter Jolly; nieces and nephews, Richard, Brian, Shari, Betsy, Mark, Andrea, Jason and Craig; and her beloved dog Meeko.
In addition to her parents, Susan was predeceased by her beloved husband in January of 2000, Dr. Isidro Salgado; her son Dr. David Salgado; and two brothers John and Dr. Richard Snow.
Susan’s family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff of Trinity Court at Rocmaura Nursing Home for their compassionate and professional care during her stay with them.
Arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). In keeping with Susan’s wishes, she will be laid to rest with her husband at Hampton Rural Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Cystic Fibrosis Canada, or Rocmaura Nursing Home.
