Obituary of Jean Dorothy Doyle

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Jean Dorothy Doyle announces her passing at home on Friday, May 13, 2022 with family by her side. Jean was born on March 20, 1934 in Saint John, NB to the late Robert and Katherine (Crilley) Williams.

Jean will be dearly missed by her husband Jerry Doyle of 65 years,  children; Linda Doyle, Josselyn Doyle (Jeff Thomson), Jean Roy (Paul), and Carolyn Wright (Tony), daughter in law Kim Doyle, sisters; Marilyn Edgecombe ( Percy), Roseann Melanson (George) and Kathy McLellan (Darrell) , sister in law Rhoda Williams, 9 grandchildren; Jason LeBlanc (Shawna), Stephanie Donovan (Thomas), Stephen Hamm (Ashley), Michael Roy (Tasha), Jeffery Roy (Lindsay), Matthew Wright, Alyson Wright (Kyle), Scott Doyle (Sarah), and Sean Doyle (Olivia), great grandchildren; Victoria, Emma, Evan, Andrew, Adrian, Isabella, Emylia, Levi, Ivy, Bristol, Beau, and expected baby Leo, great -great grandchildren; James and Mary, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents Jean is predeceased by her children Norman and Stephen Doyle, brother Robert Williams, and infant sister Elaine Williams.

Jean loved going for long drives through the countryside and on tea dates with her daughters and husband. She enjoyed many summers trailering with Jerry on the Peninsula and at Sunrise Shores Campground. Jean also liked to knit.

Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John, NB, E2M 2L3, 506-634-1701. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 18th from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held from St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Holy Spirit Parish on Thursday, May 19th  at 12:00 Noon. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery with a reception at Denis Morris Community Centre. Donations in Jean’s memory can be made to Bruce Melanson Scholarship Fund, Canadian Cancer Society, or a charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences can be made at www.castlefh.ca
